If you have a disability, you may be able to request specific arrangements or adjustments to the Situational Judgement Test (SJT).

Reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability which requires any specific arrangements or adjustments to enable you to attend and complete the SJT and interview, you must:

  • Answer yes to the relevant question on the application form, such as ‘do you have a disability, learning difficulty or health condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding and which requires any specific arrangements / adjustments to enable you to attend an assessment, computer based test or other selection process?’
  • Select whether this request is time related, non-time related or other and provide details
  • Complete the relevant sections/provide more information on your request
  • Upload your supporting evidence. If you are attaching multiple documents, please highlight the section/document where your adjustment and condition is stated

To corroborate your request, you must attach independent evidence of your condition and support needs (for example, an Educational Psychologist report for Dyslexia, correspondence from a medical professional managing your condition) to your application form at time of submission. Breastfeeding mothers are advised to contact the recruitment office for further advice regarding this requirement.

Important: Important

All requested adjustments must be supported by an accompanying medical report.

If your report does not support your adjustment requested, we are unable to approve it.

Please note that if supporting evidence is not submitted with the application, you will not be given a further opportunity to provide it.

Situational Judgement Test (SJT) adjustments

The list below details the possible SJT adjustments available to request.

You will be prompted to select from this list if you answer 'Yes' to the relevant question when completing your application form. The Dental Foundation Training National Recruitment Office (DFTNRO) will inform you if your SJT adjustment request/s have been approved or rejected through a message on Oriel after the application window closes.

If any of your approved adjustments require a separate room or additional logistical arrangements, you will be notified of this via Oriel. You will then be required to complete a separate booking form, indicating your preferred dates and Pearson Professional Assessment centre locations.

Please also review the Pearson Professional Assessment Comfort Aid List too see if your adjustment request falls under this in which case you will not need to request an adjustment.
