Vacancies and preferencing

We publish indicative numbers so you can get an idea of where training potential posts will be.

NHS England is responsible for educating and training doctors, dentists, nurses and all healthcare professionals in England.

Medical and Dental training programmes in England are managed locally by NHS England’s local offices.

Training programmes in Wales are managed by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). 

Training programmes in Northern Ireland and Scotland continue to be managed by deaneries.

These numbers are indicative only. Posts will only be confirmed when preferencing is undertaken.

Those who have applied will be advised through Oriel of the posts available in this round. This will be after the closing date.

You'll be invited to preference available posts prior to offers being issued. Offers will then be made on the basis of your performance at the selection centre.
