Situational Judgement Test SJT and interviews

IMPORTANT NOTICE - DENTAL CORE TRAINING (DCT1) DEMAND.

We have seen a big increase in the number of Applications for DCT1 Training for the 2024 recruitment round.
 
As a result of this we have taken the decision to reintroduce a cut off score for invites to interview following the Situational Judgement Test (SJT).  This means we will not be able to offer all applicants who attend the SJT an interview.
 
We know that this may be disappointing news, but the application numbers exceed the number of posts we have and available interview capacity.

DCT2 and DCT3 Applications

We can confirm that All DCT2 and DCT3 applicants who attend the SJT will be invited to interview.

Situational Judgement Test (SJT)

The Situational Judgement Test (SJT) is a computer-based assessment. It’s been designed to assess some of the essential competences outlined in the Dental Core Training (DCT) person specifications.

You can book your SJT on the Pearson VUE website from 6 am on Thursday 22 February 2024. 

The booking window closes on at 11am on Wednesday 28 February 2024. 

Virtual interviews

All interviews will take place remotely using Qpercom Recruit system.

Interviews will consist of:

• a clinical scenario
• a clinical governance, quality improvement and professional skills scenario

There will be 2 stations each with 2 panellists. Interviews will last 16 minutes.

Applicant portfolios

The assessment of applicant portfolios was part of the DCT2/3 selection process before the COVID-19 pandemic. This will not be part of the selection process for 2024.
